SoFurry Minecraft Rules- Please Read!

Vanilla Server Rules

These rules are the same for all players on the server, and must be adhered to at all times. Depending on the severeity of the rule, you may be subject to a temporary ban, permenant ban, or mute upon breaking them. These rules are subject to change at any time, and the information here is more detailed than that you can find on the server itself. Check here before asking if something is allowed or not.

This server is a family-friendly server, however an air of maturity is required to play on our server. By reading all of these rules, you verify that you are at least 13 years of age, or have had parental consent to join this server. We will not filter out any content from our chat, including obscenities or sexually suggestive themes, with any plugin or mod, with the exception of racist slurs.

By continuing to play on our server, you verify that you will abide by the rules set forth below, and will be subject to a mute or banishment if you do not. You also agree that you are able to view PG-13 or mature content, as stated above. We are not responsible for anyone who does not have consent to view this material, or have ignored these above and below rules.


  1. You have the right to an environment free of harassment and abuse of ANY kind. If you feel threatened by anyone at any time, please contact any staff member, we are here to help. Harassment on our server is defined as any physical or verbal behaviour that offends or humiliates you. This can include racist remarks made toward a person or group of people, being pressured into doing something you do not wish to do, or any other offensive behaviour that persists over time.
  2. Keep political, religious, and controversial topics to a bare minimum in chat. In-depth discussions should be kept in private messages and out of global chat.
  3. You are not to cause grief in any way. Grief in our terms is anything that causes destruction, aggravation, or interference in anything a player or the server is doing, which includes (but is not limited to): lag machines, explosion damage, stealing, raiding, and anything that disrupts the operation of the server. This also includes wasting the time of staff. If you are unsure whether or not what you are planning to do is going to be considered griefing, make sure to ask a staff member.
  4. Do not beg others for items, including the server administrators, other players, or anyone you know to have the items you want. If you ask them once and the answer is no, please respect that. If you do not, you will be muted. This also applies to asking for assistance from staff members. If you ask multiple times in quick succession, you will be ignored, possibly muted for spamming chat. Please be patient with our staff, we are here to help all players, including you.
  5. No spamming the chat with messages, excessive caps/curses, or advertising for other servers. Global chat must be kept in the English language, however personal messages in any language are fine. First warning will warrant an hour mute, the second a 24 hour mute, and the third a permenant mute.
  6. You are not to exploit any glitches of the game that will give you access to staff commands like flying, free money, wall scaling, etc. You are also prohibited from using a hacked client or using outside mods that interfere with the performance of the server. Exploitation of this manner is an instant and permanent ban from our server.
  7. You are not to use any texture packs, hacks, or mods that will allow XRay techniques to be used. This will result in an instant ban, which is silly considering how readily available resources are on our server.
  8. Do not question the words of a staff member. If you feel their ruling to be unfair or unjust please take a screenshot and notify Zaphara, the admin of SoFurry Minecraft. If you feel his ruling is still unfair, you may contact Vyn, the SoFurry Gaming admin. Finally, if you feel both rulings are unfair, you may take a chance and contact Toumal, the owner of SoFurry.com.
  9. There are to be NO vulgar or suggestive art pieces on the server. This includes, but is not limited to: genetalia, porn, erotic novels, suggestive naming of items, etc. If they are found, they will be removed and you will be tempbanned. Repeated offenses will result in a permanent ban.
  10. You are not permitted to use mods that give you an unfair advantage. Mods that enhance client performance, modify HUD display, enhance graphics, and toggle brightness are allowed. Minimaps are also fine so long as they do not display additional information like entities, players, and cave systems. Treat other types of mods as if they are not allowed, and if you are not sure if a mod is allowed, please ask any staff member. Some mods we are completely fine with are:
    • Inventory Tweaks- This mod, or its equivalent, is fine to use on our server, as it simply re-arranges the target inventory via defined sorting rules, and can replace tools in a players hand if they break or are damaged.
    • Mouse Tweaks- This mod is fine to use as all it does is add useful tricks to the mouse, to help more quickly and easily manage items the player has.
    • Xaero's Minimap (Fair-play)- This minimap is a lightweight, easy to use, and fair mod that will allow you to view your surroundings, without giving away the location of tunnels, maps, or entities.
    • Optifine- This isn't so much a mod as it is a utility. It allows a player to configure nearly any graphical setting in the game, much more than the vanilla client allows. However, if this is used in conjunction with an xray shader pack, the player will be banned.
    • AppleSkin- This mod is a simple one that will allow the player to view their exhaustion and saturation bars over top of their hunger bar. This is useful to know when you will stop regenerating health from food.
    • VeinMiner- This mod allows players to set a hotkey to be held while mining to break all of the ores of a single type that are touching. This is a fair mod as it uses durability equal to that of mining normally, however just saves the player a bit of time.
  11. Keep nicknames appropriate. Make sure your nickname is a reasonable length, and only use colors in your nickname. The use of formatting symbols, ASCII characters, and the color black are not allowed because they make nicknames difficult to read, and using them will result in a warning, followed by a temp ban if not changed in a reasonable time. Do not use nicknames to impersonate other players or staff, doing so will result in an immediate and permenant ban.
  12. Obey town rules. Player-Owned towns may have their own set of rules and guidelines. This is fine as long as they do not supersede global rules and must be followed so long as you are within the limits of the city, unless a staff member states otherwise, or the rule is too far fetched.
  13. When you obtain access to title changes, via voting rewards, do not use the prefix of any staff rank. Doing so will immediately earn you a ban from our server. Your prefix/title may not include any ASCII characters or formatting codes except colours.
  14. Anti-AFK Machines are a bannable offense, however AFK farming machines are ok to use so long as you are at your computer and are active. This means if someone talks to you, bumps you, moves you, etc, you respond to it accordingly. Otherwise you will be banned for use of an anti-AFK machine.
