Vanilla Server Rules
Rules are a very important aspect of any Minecraft server. If you have not read them already, please head to the Rules Page and give them a read-over before you continue onto this guide. This will help keep you from getting in trouble! If you have any questions about our rules or policies on our server, please make sure to reach out to any of our staff team, we are more than willing to answer any questions, or provide clarity on a subject that you need help understanding. You can also read the rules at any time in-game with the /rules command, or use /rulebook for a physical book copy of the book.
As soon as you log onto our server for the first time, you will notice you have a few books in your inventory. These are to help you in-game by keeping a reference with you at all times. Please, make sure you read these, as they contain some vital information. The information in those books will also be kept here.
Getting Started
One of the first things recommended to do on our server is make a home. The sooner you build your house, the sooner you can have it protected with a region and you can be promoted to the Regular rank on our server. In any of our current worlds, you can use /kit start to obtain a starter kit, containing a set of awesome SoFurry orange leather armour, a set of enchanted stone tools, a quarter stack of candles, and a quarter stack of food for you, to get you started with your adventuring!
On the topic of your house, you should know that we have a series of guidelines that we measure every home by before they can be regioned. This is to ensure that all players are treated fairly, as well as giving us some time to monitor new players for strange behaviours, that could lead to trolling/griefing in the future. The qualifications for your first home are as follows:
- Your home must be at least 5x5x5 on the inside. This means you have to have a total house that is at least 7x7x7 blocks on the outside in order for it to be considered for a region.
- Your home must not be made out of naturally-generated materials. What this means is that you cannot have a home regioned that has only blocks that were there as a result of world generation. For example, you cannot do the following:
- Dig a hole in the side of a mountain, or in the ground, and have it regioned.
- Build a wall around a village and expect it to be regioned. For this to happen, you must change at least of half of all the buildings inside the village.
- Place a few chests inside a Woodland Mansion and have it regioned. This is the same as a village, you must change at least half of the original structure(s) for them to be considered for regioning.
- Your home must be made out of at least 4 different materials, excluding overly-common materials. This also means you cannot have a mixture of any of the "banned" building materials either. These materials are as follows:
- Cobblestone. This should go without saying, as it is one of the most plentiful material obtained by mining. Please do not expect your 7x7x7 cobblestone structure to be protected, you will be informed of the guidelines again, and asked to rebuild your home first.
- Dirt. This is also a no-brainer. Dirt houses, as well as being ugly, are the simplest, most effort-free home you can build, and will not qualify for a region.
- Sand. This material is also banned, as it is the easiest material to dig with a shovel, requiring no effort on the players part. Same with the next material:
- Gravel. Again, this material is too easy to dig, even if it is less common than sand/dirt.
- Sandstone. The only exception to this, is that you take the time to carve or smooth the sandstone in a grindstone first.
- Your home must have a ceiling, floor, walls, and some sort of entrance/exit. This means that you can have a trapdoor/door on the ceiling or wall to get into or out of your house, however you cannot just have a hole for an entrance. Your ceiling, floor, and walls must all be placed by you in order for your home to qualify for a region.
- If you are building a home below sea-level (y=62), all of the ores, save coal and iron, within your proposed region must be removed before you may region the area. This can either be done via mining all the ores within your proposed region, or you may ask a mod+ to replace all the ores with stone.
- The only exceptions to the previous rules is if you have a very large or substantial build that we can tell you have already put forth a lot of effort into building. This we will region for you regardless of completion level, so that your build is safe.
Once you get your home built and ready to go, all you have to do is ask a staff member to come over and region it for you. They will ask you where you would like your region teleport set at; this is a "free" teleport, that you can use to get back to your house with instead of using a /sethome to do so, you should pick a strategic place for it, however it can be moved at any time (to the location you are standing) by using /rg flag %region% teleport here or its alias /rs %region%. You can have as many regions in as many different worlds as you would like, the only stipulation being that you have to use the majority of the space that is regioned. You can have a bit of growth-room, however most of the space inside your region must be used.
Keep in mind that you cannot claim an abandoned build as your first home. Abandoned builds are classified on our server as the following: There is no region around the build, there is no core protect data, and there are no protect signs on chests or other inventories that has a players name on it. If any of those are present, then the build is not considered abandoned until the player has been offline for 90 days (3 months) as determined by the /seen %player% command. To claim an abandoned build or region, you must also have a valid reason, that will be left to staff discretion.
Ranks and Permissions
Below is a listing of all of our ranks and their available features. Each of these are separated by the header containing the verbatim default prefix for each rank, followed by a brief description of that rank and how to obtain them, the available commands, then the rest of the available features/perks. Note that the donation ranks can be applied to any player regardless of their current rank, as our rank ladder will not be affected. If you donate as a new player, you have both the New rank's features with the donation rank's perks. In this scenario, when you get promoted to the next rank, you will not lose your donation perks, however your prefix will be changed to the new ladder rank. This can be fixed by an Admin, if you wish.
[New]~
Players that first join our server start off as our default rank, New. This rank is meant to be temporary, a stepping stone to get you to the next rank on our server. After you complete your home and have it protected by a staff member, you are then promoted to the next rank. The New rank has the ability to use the following commands:
- /co i - This command allows you to toggle the CoreProtect inspection tool. If you right or left click on blocks, it will tell you who has used, placed, broke, or accessed a block. Left click allows you to see who placed the block you clicked. Right click with a block in hand will allow you to see who changed the block at the location where the block in your hand would have been placed. Right click with an empty hand will allow you to see what adjacent block was removed, or who last used a button, door, etc clicked on.
- /realname %nickname% - This will give you the real name of the user with the nickname you specified. Useful for a lot of other commands that require in-game names, rather than nicknames.
- /tpa %player% and /tpahere %player% - These commands will send a teleport request to the player that you specified. Note that this only works with their in-game name, not nickname. Tpa will request you to teleport to their location, tpahere will request that they teleport to your location.
- /tpaccept and /tpdeny - These commands are responses to the tpa and tpahere commands. Tpaccept will accept the teleport request, and tpdeny will deny the teleport request.
- /warps and /warp %warp% - Using the warps command will list all the warps present on our server, and using the warp command will teleport you to the desired warp location.
- /position - This command will give you your current position. This includes x, y, z, yaw, pitch, and world.
- /msg %player% %message% - This will send a private message to another player of your choice. This command also only works on real names. If you want to open a private channel with someone, so that you don't have to keep typing /r (to reply to their message) or /msg, you can just use /msg %player%, and a channel will be established. To return to the global chat, you can use /g.
- /sethome %name% - This command will set your home at the position you are currently standing.
- /home %name% - This command will teleport you to the desired home. If you have multiple homes, you can specify the home with %name%, or you can teleport to your bed location with /home bed.
- /delhome %name% - Using this command will remove the specified home.
- /money or /balance - Can be shortened to /bal, this command will display how much money you have currently. The currency we use on our server is called Tails ( Ŧ ), which is similar to the Dollar, and Coins which are similar to pennies.
- /money top or /baltop - Using this command will show you the top earners of the server, and how much money they currently have.
- /mail %argument% - This command processes various different mail-related functions. On our server, we occasionally have updates such as things having happened, plugins repaired, or events going on, that all players need to be aware of, or sometimes you want to tell a player your progress on a build you worked on together, but they are offline. These are some of the applications of the mail system, however you may use it as you see fit. Below are the arguments and what you can do with them:
- /mail send %player% %message% - This will send the desired message to the specified player. The only limit is how long your chat bar is, which is 256 characters, including the command. You can always send multiple mails if you run out of room though!
- /mail read %page% - This will allow you to read your mail on the server. We recommend you use this command every time you join our server, so that you can keep up with the news. If you have multiple pages of mail, you can read through them by specifying a page number.
- /mail clear - This command will clear all of your current mail from your inbox. Make sure you read it before doing so, in case something sent to you pertains to you!
- /afk - Running this command will set you as away from keyboard on our server. This will start the countdown timer, which will kick any player automatically who has been afk for 15 minutes. Being idle for 10 minutes will automatically set you as afk and start the countdown timer.
- /ignore %player% - If a player is bothering you, or you just don't like what they have to say, you may stop seeing their messages by ignoring them. To unignore someone you just have to use the command again.
- /compass - This will display the direction you are currently facing.
- /seen %player% - This command will display how long it has been since the player specified has been online. This command is somewhat funky in the terms of it doesn't always work. This can accept nicknames, however they have to be formatted.
- /list - Using this command will display a list of those online, grouped and organized by their rank. Note that this is going by the most recently added group the the player, so if you donate before you are promoted to Regular/etc, instead of showing up as a donor, you will show up as your ladder rank.
- /rtp - Using this command will randomly teleport you somewhere in the world. This only works in the Serenity and Tranquility worlds.
- /blocklocker %line% %name% - After right-clicking a sign you have protected a chest etc with, you can use this command to add other authorized players to your block.
- /shop - This command will bring up the in-game GUIShop, allowing you to purchase items with the money you earn from working jobs.
- /jobs browse - This will bring up the jobs menu, where you can look at the different jobs by left clicking on their respective GUI item. Inside each will show you the base amount you will earn for each operation (such as breaking dirt/stone). By hovering over each of the GUI elements, you can see if you are a part of that job or not. To leave a job, you can use /jobs leave %job% and to join a job, you can either right-click the GUI item, or you can use /jobs join %job%.
- /spawn - This command will take you to the spawn of the world you are currently in.
- /hub - Using this will teleport you to the hub of the server.
- /donate - This will give you a link to our donation store, which you can also visit by clicking the "Store" tab at the top of this web page, or clicking Here.
- /dynmap-link - This will send you a link to the dynmap of our server, or you can use the "Map" tab at the top of this page, or click Here.
- /me %emote% - Allows you to use an emote in the format of * Zaphara dances happily *.
- /vote - Displays a list of vote sites for you to vote for our server, each of which will reward you with various money and item rewards. You may vote once per day on each vote site, and the more votes you have, the more rewards you get down the line.
- /rewards - Displays the rewards for voting, in order of least amount of votes to most.
- /svt - Displays the top voters on our server, with how many votes they have.
- /trash - Displays a trash can for you to throw your items away in, much like a disposal sign.
- McMMO commands - There are a lot of commands associated with McMMO, the plugin we use to add an rpg system to our server. A list of all of these commands and their usage can be found Here, and the guide/wiki can be found Here.
Along with being able to use the above commands, new players are also able to make elevators/lifts (a video tutorial Here), create/use/destroy [Disposal] signs (which act as trash cans), alter flags of regions they are a member of, and create a ChestShop anywhere in the world, or in our shop area (a video tutorial Here). New players have access to the following as well:
- One job, defaulted to Miner (this can be changed by leaving miner and joining the job of your choice)
- One home set, not including your bed home.
- Ability to purchase a shop plot at /warp shop.
- Ability to mine spawners with a gold pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch and change spawner mobs with spawn eggs.
[Regular]~
The next rank in our server after New is Regular, which is obtained by building a home that qualifies for a region and having it protected by a staff member. The Regular rank has access to the following commands:
- /nick %nickname% - This command will set your nickname, displayed when you talk on the server, to the specified nickname. These nicknames can contain colour codes, however ASCII characters the colour black are prohibited for use in nicknames, due to the difficulty in reading them. To use a colour code for your nickname, or multiple, simply use an ampersand (&) followed by the desired color code (use /colors ingame) in your command, in front of the letters you want displayed that colour. For example /nick &6Za&7ph&9ara would display your nickname as Zaphara.
- /sfregister %sfusername% - This command will allow you to link your SoFurry account to your minecraft account and automatically promote you to the SoFurry rank. When using this command, make sure that you use your SoFurry username, as it is displayed when you go to your account. For example if your user name is Manii Toro, your sf account page is manii-toro.sofurry.com, therefore when using the command you should use /sfregister manii-toro. If you try to use spaces, it will not work! This will give you a link, simply click it, log into your SoFurry account, and then run the next command:
- /sfcertify - This command should be ran after you run /sfregister and completed your registration on the main site, to verify that you have finished registration, and update your rank.
- /helpop %message% - Sends the specified message directly to the #Help channel of the sfmc discord server. This is mainly used in the event that griefers, trolls, hackers, etc are online and you need someone to hop on. This command will ping Zaphara, Urkine, Mattimao, and Jaffa. Other uses for this could be: users that need regions (including new users), users who lost their home location, and anything else that needs staff attention. Abuse of this command will be an immediate ban.
- /splitbook - Splits an enchant book apart into individual books. For example, if you have a book with Curse of Binding and Efficiency 3, you can hold it, and use /splitbook to split the book into two books: one that is curse of binding, and one that is Efficiency 3. This command costs 1000 tails per use.
Along with the listed commands, Regular users have access to the creative world and the ability to purchase a shop there for 125,000Ŧ, 3 home set locations (make sure you specify names with /sethome and /home!), and the ability to work 2 different jobs to make money.
[SoFurry]~
SoFurry rank is the highest rank a player can obtain on our server without donating to the parent site via our donation store. To obtain the SoFurry rank on our server, you must use the /sfregister %sfusername% command (SF Username being the prefix to your page on SoFurry.com. For example, Manii Toro's page url is manii-toro.sofurry.com, so his SF Username is manii-toro), click the link and login to your SoFurry account, followed by /sfcertify in-game. Doing so will promote you to this rank, where you will reap the benefit of the follwoing commands and features:
- /craft - Opens up a crafting table interface to the player, so you can use a crafting table anywhere without having to make one.
- /engrave %arguments% - The EngravePlus plugin, written by our very own Zaphara, offers the unique ability to players to "engrave" an item in one's hand with a new name, remove the name from a held item, add lore to said item, or remove all lore from the item. To do this, you must use one of the following commands:
- /engrave %name% - This will engrave the currently held item with the specified name. This name can include any of the formatting codes, ASCII characters, or whatever else you wish to add to it; the options are limiteless! You can even use spaces!
- /engrave null - This will remove the name from the currently held item, reverting it back to its normal Minecraft name.
- /engrave lore - This will add a blank line to the lore of the held item, perfect for seperating sections of text.
- /engrave lore %lore% - This will add a new line of lore to the held item with the specified lore. This lore can contain any formatting codes, ASCII characters, etc.
- /engrave lore null - This will remove ALL lore from the held item, so that you may customize it again.
Along with these perks, SoFurry rank players have access to 5 unique home set locations and the ability to work 3 different jobs at the same time to earn tails. If you have used our register command on any of our servers, you do not have to run it again. Simply join another server, gain regular rank, and use /sfcertify to automatically promote you.

Jobs Help
On our server we also have jobs to help our players make money outside of the shops. This way, you can work one or more jobs that you tend to do a majority of, and make money for doing so. Each job has its own advantages and drawbacks, with various different amounts of base income received from different amounts of items mined/dug/farmed/bred/etc. To look at all the various jobs, how much they pay for each action, and to join them, you can use /jobs browse. This will open a GUI to you, showing you all the different jobs. You can also left-click on a job to view how much pay per action you get, by hovering over each of the items in the GUI. To join a job, you can either use the command /jobs join %job% or you can right-click the job in the main GUI menu. WorldGuard Help
WorldGuard is the plugin we use to protect our players' builds from potential danger from other players, explosions, etc. Once you get your first region, or are a member of another person's region, you are able to change some things about it. If you are a region's owner, you are able to add or remove an owner from the region, add or remove a member from the region, teleport to the region you own, and change flags for your region. If you are a member of a region, you can still teleport to the region, and access the items/blocks/etc inside. Region flags are a way for region owners to customize their regions. On our server, players have access to the following flags:
NOTE: These flags can also be changed by using /rg i to access the info screen while inside your region, then clicking on "flags" in the text field, to toggle allow/deny on any flag you have access to. You can use the info screen to add or remove members, owners, and more. If you'd like access to any more flags, please contact Zaphara#2811 on discord to suggest which youd like added.

If you would like to see more information about WorldGuard, what it is and does, and other commands you may use, visit the WorldGuard Documentation page Here .A few more things to think about, when editing your region:
- When you add a player as an owner to your region, they have full access to every aspect of your region. This means they can change flags, add or remove players, break or place blocks, or even remove you as an owner from the region. Be careful who you trust!
- Similarly, when you add a player as a member to your region, they have the ability to change flags, break blocks, access chests, etc. Anything a member of your region does inside your region will NOT be reverted, so make sure you choose your friends wisely.
- Use of the PVP flag should be cautioned, as it invites anyone who steps foot into your region to attack or be attacked. Be wary of teleporting to other players who seem overjoyed to have you in their region, we have seen player killers do this to murder. Thankfully keep inventory is on, so they don't gain much from doing so, however your experience levels will be lost as is normal.
- The mob-spawning flag prevents all mobs from spawning inside your region, including animals you are attempting to breed. It is advised that if you don't want to have mobs spawning in your region, but want an animal farm, to have your farm built and ready, with at least two of each animal in every pen, then ask a staff member to make your farm a child region inside your main region. Then you can set your farm to have mob-spawning allowed, so that you can breed animals in your farm, but nothing can spawn inside your home.
